The dance school has actively hosted lecture demonstrations, workshops, and summer camps for its students. Dr. S. Divyasena compiled the Adavus of Bharatanatyam and released an audio CD titled “Nrithyaharam” to help aspiring students to practice on their own. Divyanjali inaugurated its own platform in the year 2017 for providing opportunities to young deserving artists to perform under the auspices of Divyanjali’s “Kalarpanam”. Divyanjali also hosted “Sangeet International Festival” in collaboration with All India Dancers Association (AIDA), in the year 2018, which featured both music and dance performances of various styles.

Nrithya Utsav - 2019

Divyanjali is very delighted to have completed 25 years since establishment. To mark this milestone, Divyanjali celebrated by conducting several events from July 2019 to March 2020, titled as “Nrithya Utsav” Celebrations. This included several dance festivals, lecture demonstrations, dance competitions, quizzes, debates and many other events. The aim was to provide a platform for the students and art lovers to learn and flourish.

Kalarpanam

Kalarpanam- a fine arts festival hosted by Divyanjali, aims at providing young and upcoming talents a wonderful arena to showcase their skills and proficiency in the Indian Fine Arts. Hosting a festival like Kalarpanam thus encourages and attracts the youth to pursue the arts. The first edition of Kalarpanam was inaugurated by Smt. Nandini Ramani- a renowned dancer and a dance critic. The performances of the first bunch of various young talents were well received among dance teachers, students, and parents thereby paving the way to host it in future days. Each and every edition of Kalarpanam would happen at different venues across Chennai and also would reach out to the outskirts that nurture a lot of efficient artists with very limited exposure.

Natya satsang

This is a series of lecture demonstrations. Divyanjali has conducted several debates, quiz competitions, and lectures in association with Ganamukundhapriya and Yathnam, to make the youngsters imbibe the various aspects of dance. It has created several opportunities, both for its own students and others, to showcase their performing as well as teaching skills. Teaching sessions have also been conducted abroad in collaboration with their non-resident students.

Nrithya saavishkar

This is a series of competitions- a talent search. This is the first me Divyanjali conducted a competition. The competition was conducted for various age groups ranging from 8 to 25 years which as solo presentations. There was a wide panel of judges who are veterans in the field of dance. Divyanjali provided the winners of Nrithya saavishkar with cash prizes and an opportunity to perform in a renowned sabha at Chennai. It strives to be one of the recognized and well-organized competitions in the future.

An Internaonal Dance Fesval conducted by Divyanjali featuring arsts from different countries including Singapore, South Africa, USA and Australia. These renowned arsts, presented solo presentaons in Bharatanatyam and Kuchipudi.

National seminar on vachika abinaya

This was conducted in collaboraon with Prayathnam. This seminar featured presentaons by various arsts and renowned scholars about the nuances of Vachika Abinaya. This was inaugurated by Padmabhushan Dr. Padma Subramanyam, who also delivered the keynote address for the seminar. The seminar also featured paper presentaons by students and budding arsts.
